First and Second Varsity Eights Sweep Their Events at WPI Dual Race

Following a successful week of training, the men's rowing team had a successful weekend in Worcester on Lake Quinsigamond. In their annual dual race against WPI, Ithaca, UNH, and Colby, the first and second varsity eights won their respective events. In two hard fought races, both Trinity eights held onto small margins, narrowly edging out WPI. Both crews were always within 1/2 lengths of each the entire way down the course, with Trinity's bow ball always out in front from the first stroke to the last. The varsity eight finished with a time of 6:04.15, 1.16 seconds ahead of WPI. The second varsity posted a time of 6:17.2, .24 seconds ahead of WPI. The variety four finished sixth and posted a time of 7:34.36, 27.07 seconds behind WPI in the event. The team is moving in the right direction as they head into the final weeks of the season and continue to find more speed in different parts of the race. The program's next race is Sunday, April 29th, against Holy Cross and Wesleyan on Lake Quinsigamond, as Trinity and Wesleyan will race for the Graf Cup.
