Trinity Rowing Finishes Third against Holy Cross and Wesleyan
In the final dual race of the season, the first and second varsity eights both finished third to Holy Cross and Wesleyan in their respective events. Holy Cross won both of the events. In the varsity event, Holy Cross crossed the finish line with a time of 6:07.7, Wesleyan was second at 6:14.93, and Trinity's varsity eight posted a time of 6:21.61. This was the second time in third time since 2002 that Wesleyan brought the Graf Cup back to Middletown. Trinity's second varsity eight finished 1.78 behind Wesleyan, while the Crusaders won that race at 6:11.88. Both the first and second varsity eights dealt with last minute lineup changes due to illnesses on the team. The two eights rowed those lineups for the first during their race warmup. Trinity's varsity four competed on Saturday against Bates, Williams, and Worcester Tech, finishing third with a time of 7:46.76. Bates was first in that race at 7:33.87. There is still a lot of room to improve on the recent results and conquer the challenges that were put in front of them. The team is hoping to build more speed throughout the week leading up to the New England Rowing Championships on Saturday, May 5th on Lake Quinsigamond.
